Chanel Shell Minaudiere is Exorbitantly Expensive, Costs $48,000

Chanel Shell Minaudiere
The Chanel Shell minaudieres first made their appearance at Chanel’s spring 2012 fashion show in Paris. Inspired by the ocean these clutches were designed to look just like real shells, made of a pearlized ivory resin, and covered in pearls. Now, you don’t expect a exclusive Chanel purse to be cheap, the plain pearlescent resin version of the Chanel clutch sells for $33,000 and the same version studded with freshwater pearls costs a whopping $48,000. What do you think of the latest ultra-luxurious addition to the Chanel line? Would you pay $48,000 for a pearl-encrusted bag?
