Swiss watch brand Zenith has released a new limited-edition watch: the Academy Christophe Colomb Hurricane. Water-resistant to 30 meters, the watch is housed in a 45mm × 14.3mm case in 18kt rose gold. The crystal is an AR-coated sapphire, as is the display back. The strap is brown alligator with rubber lining and an 18kt rose gold triple-folding clasp.
Inside the Academy Christophe Colomb Hurricane is the Swiss manual-wind Zenith in-house caliber El Primero 8805 with 53 jewels, 36,000 vph, and a 50-hour power reserve. The movement comprises 939 parts, with the gravity control module housing 575 parts. This limited-edition “Hurricane” version is skeletonized with a fusée and chain transmission.
