To celebrate the re-opening of its Beverly Hills boutique, French luxury label Hermès has unveiled a basketball that’s priced at $12,900. The ball is made of blue calfskin using the same hand-stitched technique as the brand’s iconic Birkin bag, under the creative direction of Pierre-Alexis Dumas in Paris. Only two have been produced, however, they can be specially ordered from the brand’s Paris atelier.
Hermès’ American CEO Robert Chavez assures that the ball “certainly be used for play – the leather is sturdy, and why not make such a unique item come to life on the court?”
At that price, it better be!
