Eco-friendly footwear company Chipkos has partnered with renowned Los Angeles artist David Palmer to create the world’s most expensive flip-flops. Priced at $18,000 a pair, each purchase guarantees the protection of 100,000 square feet of endangered rainforest land in Costa Rica.

“Like adding land to Yosemite, each sandal purchase expands a Costa Rican national park by one hundred square feet, thereby protecting the habitat, species, and resources within that land area in perpetuity,” explains Norm Gershenz, Executive Director of SaveNature.Org. It is a striking example of luxury fashion serving a vital environmental cause.
