Christian Louboutin teamed up with Walt Disney to redesign the famous lost slipper, marking the release of Cinderella on Blu-ray in fall 2012. Imagining a modern-day Cinderella, the French designer created the shoe using lace, crystals, and two sparkling butterflies—and naturally, the sole is red.
“Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace, and fairy-tale love, but also shoes,” Louboutin tells WWD. “Her character and her story dictated the design to me. It was all there in the pages and words of this tale.”
Revealed during Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week, the shoes will not be mass-produced.
