French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel designed a special-edition perfume bottle for Dior’s fragrance J’adore L’Absolu. Thanks to the glass-blowing method, each of these sophisticated Murano crafted bottles is unique. From Dior:
“Jean-Michel Othoniel was a guest artist at the House of Dior, invited to provide his vision of the iconic J’adore bottle. Othoniel took inspiration from the “En huit” lines of the amphora. For this bottle, he called on the ancestral and unique know-how of the Murano glassmakers in Italy. Each step in every hand blown bottle is as technical as it is detailed. The J’adore necklace is reinterpreted thanks to the spun glass technique, and is set delicately on the body of the bottle. The artist wanted the necklace to be undone, creating the idea of freedom. The wire and the bead that decorate the bottle contain gold leaf. In the molten glass, they take up a different position in every bottle, signalling its exceptional character. Held in the palm of the hand, the bottle cannot stand on”
Created by François Demachy the scent combines: sweet and vibrant Damask rose, seductive and luminous Arabian jasmine, and powerful and voluptuous Indian tuberose. Priced at $3,500 the Jean-Michel Othoniel J’Adore Dior Artist Edition is limited to only 300 pieces.
