Italian design house Zagato marks Aston’s 100th Anniversary with a pair of special one-off models based on the Aston Martin DBS and DB9. Designed with a ‘double bubble’ roof design, reminiscent of Zagato cars from the 1950s the DBS Coupé Zagato Centennial was conceived for a young and prestigious Japanese entrepreneur; while the DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial was developed for the well known American car collector Peter Read, a longtime enthusiast and collector of Aston Martins.
“Redesigning the DBS was a difficult job. The DBS is already one of the most beautiful modern sports cars around. Our challenge was to bring sporty styling together with a more Mediterranean luxury GT feel, all with typical Zagato quality.” – explains Norihiko Harada, Zagato’s Chief Designer.
Both models could make their public debut at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this year.
