Jaguar design boss Ian Callum has teamed up with British restoration shop Classic Motor Cars for his newest automobile, a unique Jaguar Mark 2. Designed by Callum himself, the car took 18 months to build and boasts numerous aesthetic and technical modifications.
“This is a very personal statement. A long held notion that, although the Mark 2 has always been a beautiful car, it could be even more exciting in shape and performance. Whilst maintaining the purity of the car’s form, I wanted to add a number of modern twists to the design. Simplification and clarity was my objective,” Callum said in a statement.
This car isn’t as extreme, but it has been lowered by 30mm and sits on 17″ split-rim spoke wheels. It features a new independent rear suspension designed and reengineered by CMC. The interior is highlighted by a wood-textured dash, while the seats, center console, and door panels are all upholstered in bright red leather. Powering the car is a modified and upgraded 4.3-litre XK V8 engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. What do you think? YAY or NAY?
