A Bespoke Work of Art – French crystal maker Baccarat has announced the launch of Rouge 540, a new limited-edition perfume celebrating the brand’s 250th anniversary. Drawing inspiration from Baccarat’s legendary diamond cut, the bottle design for Rouge 540 dates back to the 1940s and was created by Georges Chevalier. The name Rouge 540 also reflects Baccarat’s heritage: 540 degrees Celsius is the precise temperature required to achieve the signature red hue of Baccarat crystal.
At the heart of this precious container is a flowery, woody fragrance developed by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian.
“I wanted to create a graphic fragrance with a formula that was taut and compact in the extreme,” says Francis Kurkdjian, creator of Rouge 540. “A luminous, dense, transparent and intense fragrance.”
The notes include blood orange, saffron, white oak moss, grey amber and sage. Priced at $4,000 Baccarat Rogue 540 is available in a limited and numbered edition of only 250 bottles.
