A bespoke work of art – French crystal maker Baccarat has announced the launch of Rouge 540, a new limited edition perfume celebrating the brand’s 250th anniversary. Drawing his inspiration from the Baccarat’s legendary diamond cut, the bottle of Rouge 540 was designed by Georges Chevalier in the 1940s. The name Rouge 540 also connects to Baccarat’s DNA, 540 degrees is the temperature required to reach the red color of Baccarat crystal.
At the heart of this precious container is a flowery, woody fragrance developed by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian.
“I wanted to create a graphic fragrance with a formula that was taut and compact in the extreme,” says Francis Kurkdjian, creator of Rouge 540. “A luminous, dense, transparent and intense fragrance.”
The notes include blood orange, saffron, white oak moss, grey amber and sage. Priced at $4,000 Baccarat Rogue 540 is available in a limited and numbered edition of only 250 bottles.
