As if Lake Iseo wasn’t picturesque enough, Bulgarian artist Christo opened a new art installation that will allow people to ‘walk on water’. The walkable artwork The Floating Piers is made using 100,000 square meters of fabric, carried on a pontoon of 220,000 high-density poly-ethylene cubes.
“Those who experience The Floating Piers will feel like they are walking on water – or perhaps the back of a whale,” said Christo. “The light and water willtransform the bright yellow fabric to shades of red and gold throughout the sixteen days.”
The Floating Piers is available to visit until July 3rd 2016 (weather permitting).
Anyone who’s dreamed of walking on water now has the chance to do so! For more details visit the project website here.
