McLaren pays tribute to the legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, with a street-legal track car, the McLaren Senna. Built around McLaren’s carbonfibre ‘MonoCage III’ chassis, this is the strongest monocoque ever built by McLaren for a road-legal vehicle.
Under the hood lies a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 producing 800PS (789bhp) and 800Nm (590lb ft) which is the most powerful engine ever fitted to a McLaren road car.
Until now McLaren hasn’t released performance figures, but we can safely presume they will be equally astonishing.
The doors are particularly interesting, can be optioned with a glass lower panel.
Priced at 750,000 GBP, which is around $1 million, the Senna will be handbuilt in England and is limited to just 500 units – and unfortunately they were all sold out before the car even made its official debut.
