Meet the all-new 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the boxy luxury off-road SUV, with more space, lighter, independent front suspension and modern design. At the exterior the new G-Class is longer and wider, measures an extra 2.1 inches from stem to stern, and is 4.8 inches thicker in the middle.
The interior has been completely redesigned, the driver will be surrounded by sumptuous materials, handcrafted details, combined with new technology.
“Enhancing an icon such as the G‑Class in technological terms was both a challenge and an opportunity at the same time. Each part and every bolt came under close scrutiny”, explains Dr Gunnar Güthenke, Head of the Off-Road Product Group at Mercedes-Benz.
The new 2019 Mercedes-Benz will be available in just the G550 trim, and will be powered by 4.0-liter V8 engine making 416 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission. I’m sure an AMG-tuned G63 will inevitably follow.
The G-Class goes on sale later this year, and will be available at an entry-level price of €107,040.50 (price in Germany, incl. VAT).
