After showing us the GT-R50 as a concept, Nissan has confirmed the production design of its striking new Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, the ultimate expression of the GT-R.
“The reaction from Nissan fans around the world – and potential customers of the GT-R50 – has greatly exceeded our expectations,” said Bob Laishley, global sports car program director at Nissan. “These 50 cars, which celebrate 50 years of the GT-R as well as 50 years of Italdesign, will be rolling tributes to Nissan’s engineering leadership and rich sports car heritage for a long time to come.”
Under the bonnet Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign packs a modified twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine rated at 720 PS (710 HP) and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque.
Built in commemoration of the 50th anniversaries of the GT-R in 2019 and Italdesign in 2018, the supercar is limited to just 50 examples and priced at €990,000 before taxes and options, around $1.12 million at the current exchange rates. The first customer model will go on display at the Geneva Motor Show in March, with deliveries set to begin in late 2020.
