Banksy’s cheeky parody of Demi Moore’s iconic 1991 Vanity Fair cover is returning to the spotlight, the two-metre-tall canvas will be offered at Sotheby’s auction in London on March 25 as part of Modern Renaissance: A Cross-Category Sale.
The artwork features a pregnant figure clutching her belly but wearing wearing an ape mask and smoking a cigarette.
Unveiled in 2006 as the poster image for Banksy’s debut and breakthrough U.S. exhibition, ‘Barely Legal’ is expected to fetch £3 million (approx. $4.15 million)
Sold by a private owner the canvas is going to auction for the first time, the event will be streamed globally.
