A super rare 1993 Jaguar XJ220 coupé with only 385 miles on the odometer has broken sale records at this year’s Goodwood Revival in West Sussex, England, selling for a whopping £460,000 ($630,000USD) and becoming the most expensive XJ220 ever sold at auction. Production of the Jaguar XJ220 ran from 1992 and ceased in 1994, and only 275 cars were produced.
Powered by a 3498cc, turbocharged V6 matted to a Six-speed manual transmission the XJ220 remains today the fastest production car Jaguar has ever sold to customers, with a recorded top speed of 213mph.
With the V-6 the XJ220 was faster to 60 mph than both the Ferrari F40 and the Lamborghini Diablo, and established a new lap record for a production automobile at the Nürburgring.
Delivered new in Germany in 1994, this remarkable piece of British motoring comes with a Monza Red exterior and Sand leather interior, in superb condition.
The supercar has never been registered, surely one of the last XJ220s that can make such a claim. If you had the money, would you buy this rare beauty? Let us know in the comments below.
