Italian coachbuilder Automobili Amos unveiled a modern-take on the iconic, championship-winning Lancia Delta rally car, the Lancia Delta Safarista. Based on an Integrale 16V donor car, this off-road-ready restomod features a bespoke carbon-fiber body with a three-door conversion and a wide bodykit that includes Safari-style bumpers, mudflaps, and a small spoiler.
“Our goal with the “Safarista” program is being able to offer to our customers a non-competitive experience to enable them to safely reach their limits and those of their car, surrounded by incredible nature contexts from Sweden ice-ring to the dunes of Arabia.” – the company’s press material reads.
At the interior the cabin has been stripped out to save weight, leaving only two seats, a roll cage, bucket seats with four or five-point harnesses, hydraulic handbrake, a removable racing steering wheel and a racing-style display.
No word on technical details, but Amos has confirmed that the Safarista will use a engine built by Autotecnica Motori, upgraded with a new cooling system for water, oil, and air in order to perform in harsh conditions.
Priced at an eye-watering €570,000 ($642,133) not including the price of the donor car, the new Safarista will be limited to just 10 examples. Deliveries of the safari-style restomod are scheduled to begin in 2023 or 2024.
