One of the most desirable Ferraris ever made will be up for sale for the first time in nearly a quarter-century. Sotheby’s Sealed Auction is presenting a rare opportunity to acquire a breathtaking 1957 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta ‘Tour de France’ with coachwork by Zagato, during Monterey Car Week. Immaculately restored, this remarkable machine features a striking two-tone finish, combining a gunmetal grey body with a contrasting silver roof, and is one of just five bodied by the renowned Milanese coachbuilder.
With chassis number 0665, it stands as one of three featuring a striking “double-bubble” roof, and uniquely, it is the only one with covered headlights.
It was meticulously designed to compete at the pinnacle of racing and achieved a remarkable 6th overall position and 2nd in class during the prestigious 1957 Mille Miglia—the ultimate edition of arguably the greatest road race in history.
The auction is scheduled to take place from August 16 to 19 in Monterey, California. Currently, the auction house has not released an estimate for the vehicle; however, interested parties can request the information.
