Porsche is riding the wave into surf culture, partnering with Almond Surfboards to drop a limited-edition line of vintage-style clothing and a one-of-a-kind surfboard. This marks the second chapter of Porsche’s collaboration with Almond Surfboards under the banner ‘Single Fins & Air-Cooled Engines’, a partnership that first launched in 2024. The inaugural collection drew inspiration from the mid-1960s—a pivotal era in surf culture that also saw the debut of the iconic Porsche 911 in 1963.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Almond Surfboards for the second year in a row, this time celebrating one of the most celebrated 911 models of all time,” said Karsten von Engeln, President & CEO, Porsche Design of America, in a statement announcing the latest collab. “Together with the team at Almond, we’ve created a distinctive, high-performance surfboard that not only will appeal to surfing enthusiasts and Porsche fans, but also design aficionados alike. It looks just as good in the water, as it does on the roof of a Porsche, or on the wall in your home.”

Meticulous Handcrafted Design

Meticulously handmade in California, the surfboards are constructed from polyurethane foam with basswood stringers, encased in a durable fiberglass shell. Design elements include Carrera lettering, the Porsche crest, and Almond’s logo, alongside the number “72” as a nod to the 1972 release of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7. A color-matched single fin and Porsche branding on the underside complete the design, inspired by the iconic Fuchsfelge wheels of vintage models.

“For this new collection, we chose to shape a 6ft winged swallowtail design that draws inspiration from both the iconic 911 Carrera RS 2.7, renowned for its powerful performance and unique silhouette, and the surfboard designs of the early 1970s – the same era that this 1972 Porsche celebrates – with their blend of classic lines and cutting-edge performance,” said Dave Allee, founder of Almond Surfboards.

Handmade surf flags, a model car, and a curated California Surf Guide add a collector’s edge, while details like a sticker set and woven patch round out the offering.
