Breitling introduces a striking, all-black edition of the Navitimer Cosmonaute, a timepiece with a storied legacy as the first watch to accompany Lt. Commander Scott Carpenter into space in 1962. Limited to just 1,000 pieces, the Cosmonaute Blacksteel features a 43mm case crafted from black steel and treated with a highly resistant carbon-based coating. This bold aesthetic is completed by matching black dials and subdials, paired with a durable black rubber strap. To honor its heritage, the engraved caseback bears the official Aurora 7 mission insignia. The flight had already been celebrated the year before with the Navitimer Cosmonaute 50th Anniversary edition, limited to 1,962 pieces, the year of the mission. Beneath the surface lies the COSC-certified, in-house B02 manual wind chronograph movement, boasting a 70-hour power reserve. The Navitimer Cosmonaute Blacksteel is available for US$9,590.
