The “Step into the Void” installation is a five-sided glass box located on the top terrace of the Aiguille du Midi mountain (3,842 metres) in the French Alps near Chamonix. Tourists can enjoy breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and experience 1,035 metres of space beneath their feet in complete safety. Claimed to be “the tallest attraction in Europe,” the construction was designed by Pierre-Yves Chays and took three years to develop by Compagnie du Mont Blanc, the firm responsible for managing mountain transportation. The Chamonix skywalk opened to the public on December 21, 2013.Would you be brave enough to do this?
