
A spectacular 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540 K Cabriolet A fetched an impressive €2,760,000 (approx. $2.98 million USD) at the Bonhams sale in Stuttgart on March 28, 2015.
Originally delivered in Berlin on February 5, 1938, this particular Cabriolet A, chassis number 154076, was first owned by the advertising agency Tauentzien – Verlag and its proprietor, Georg Niedermeier. The 540 K is powered by a 5.4-litre supercharged straight-eight engine, producing 180 bhp and reaching a top speed of 110 mph.
