Brabus took the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and turned the volume up to eleven. The 800 Widestar debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show with a bold claim attached. Brabus calls it the world’s most powerful off-roader, and the engine bay backs that up. A twelve cylinder bi-turbo unit sits where the standard V8 would live, pushing out 800 horsepower, which works out to 588 kW. That is supercar territory bolted into a vehicle that can climb a mountain.
The Widestar treatment goes beyond the engine. The widebody package and comprehensive luxury equipment round out the build, giving the G-Class a stance that fills a lane and an interior that justifies the price of admission.
