French watchmaker Cartier will be releasing the Astrotourbillon Carbon Crystal Watch, based on the Cartier ID One Concept Watch, which was announced in 2009. This limited edition of only 50 pieces will come in a 47mm-wide niobium-titanium case, featuring carbon crystal components (including a diamond-coated silicon escapement mechanism) and an adjustment- and lubrication-free pallet and escapement wheel. There is no word on price yet, but it will likely carry a six-figure price tag. The watch is scheduled for release in 2013. Check out a video detailing the timepiece after the break.
