Jaquet Droz introduced a new ultra-complicated timepiece, the Bird Repeater. Presented in a 47 mm rose gold case fitted on a rolled-edge black alligator strap , the most beautiful aspect of the Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater watch is the dial; It is totally done by hand and is incredibly well-detailed.
“The Bird Repeater is an authentic automaton, with a cam system inherited directly from the century of Enlightenment, and it calls upon the resources of all the decorative crafts. In a stunning visual show, The Bird Repeater represents a pair of Blue Tits, symbolic of Pierre Jaquet-Droz’s native Jura region, together over the nest containing their fledglings. No less than eight different animation mechanisms act in synchronism…”
Only 16 pieces will be made, the Bird Repeater is priced at $472,500 in 18k red gold, and $493,500 in 18k white gold with diamonds. Technical Specifications after the break.
