Converse has tapped British fashion designer Nigel Cabourn for this Spring 2013 capsule collection. Known for his infusion of military fabrics into his work, Nigel Cabourn has reworked the rugged Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey and the all-new Chuck Taylor All Star Specialty Plimsole. The sneakers are constructed with Ventile Fabric, a special fabric which was conceived for WW2 flight suits, used until today by British Royal Air Force .
“The Ventile fabric adds such a strong element of history and design to this collection. I chose the All Star Bosey for its military-like chunky sole and 1940s appeal. I had been thinking about creating a British Army P.E. sneaker, hence the development of the plimsole silhouette,” Cabourn says.
The Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey will release on April 14, 2013 with a $150 price tag while the Chuck Taylor All Star Specialty Plimsole will go on sale June 14, 2013 for $100.
