Mercedes‑Benz revealed the S65 AMG ahead of its public unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 20, 2013. Powering the S65 AMG is a twin‑turbocharged 6.0‑litre V12 engine producing 463 kW (630 hp) and 1,000 Nm of torque. Matched to the engine is AMG’s SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G‑TRONIC seven‑speed automatic gearbox, which offers three driving modes, including Sport and Manual, selectable via a button on the centre console. Acceleration is brutal: the S65 AMG sprints from 0–100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and is electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h. For the first time, the S65 AMG is available exclusively with AMG forged light‑alloy wheels in a high‑gloss finish.
