Bang & Olufsen has introduced the BeoSound Essence at CES 2014, a new sound system offering the simplest way to enjoy your music as easily and conveniently as hitting a light switch. The Essence consists of two components: a round aluminum controller that can be wall- or tablet-mounted, and a hideaway box. The device plays music from multiple sources, including smartphone, computer, or tablet, or uses BeoSound Essence’s integrated AirPlay and DLNA streaming, as well as direct access to Spotify Connect, QPlay, and internet radio. BeoSound Essence will be available this spring, retailing at US$995 for a wall-mounted remote and hideaway box. Additional remotes will cost $200.
