Leica marks a century of photographic excellence with the introduction of the Leica T-System, a stunning fusion of heritage and modern engineering. Developed in collaboration with Audi’s design team, the T is a marvel of industrial art, meticulously machined from a single block of solid metal and hand-polished for 45 minutes to achieve its signature finish.
Beneath its unibody exterior, the Leica T is powered by a 16-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor developed by Sony. To ensure seamless workflow, it features 16GB of internal storage alongside SD card support, and marks a significant milestone as Leica’s first system camera to incorporate Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Leica T body is available for pre-order at $1,850. The system is complemented by two high-performance lenses—the 18–56mm f/3.5–5.6 ASPH and the 23mm f/2 ASPH—priced at $1,750 each. For those with an existing collection, a mount adapter for Leica M lenses is available for $395.
Leica’s centennial didn’t just inspire new cameras — it also caught the attention of watchmakers. Swiss brand Valbray marked the occasion with the EL1 “100 Years of Leica Photography Edition”, a chronograph designed around the aesthetics of a camera lens.
