French automaker Bugatti unveiled a very special car at Pebble Beach last week, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse “1 of 1.” Commissioned by a customer in Singapore, this one-of-a-kind Vitesse wears the historic Bugatti family colors of black and yellow, a tradition that runs through models like the Type 41 Royale, Type 55 and Type 44.
One of the coolest touches is the grille, where the traditional mesh has been swapped for a pattern of the letters “PL,” the owner’s initials, a job that took more than 200 hours of hand work to complete. Inside, the cabin is wrapped in black and yellow leather to match. As the name suggests, this color scheme exists on exactly one car.
One-off commissions are nothing new for Bugatti, and the marque has a soft spot for art cars too. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Bernar Venet Edition remains one of the wildest examples, with its bodywork covered in the mathematical equations that power the car.
