Rolex pays tribute to director James Cameron solo dive into the Marianas Trench with a special edition of their Deepsea watch with a new “D-Blue” Dial. The Rolex Deepsea D-Blue Dial is waterproof to an extreme depth of 3,900 metres (12,800 feet) equivalent to a weight of approximately 3 tonnes on the watch. Its 44 mm Oyster case, reinforced with the patented Ringlock System, was designed to provide the highest degree of resistance. Featuring a unique gradient “D-Blue” dial that fades from blue to black, the timepiece is fitted with a 904L stainless steel Oyster bracelet with flat three-piece solid links, an Oysterlock safety clasp and the patented Glidelock and Fliplock diving extension systems. Inside the Deepsea D-Blue houses the COSC-certified manufacture Calibre 3135. No word on price but my best guess is that it will retail for about $13,000.
