BlackBerry and Porsche Design unveiled at an exclusive event in Dubai the latest smartphone from their partnership, the Porsche Design P’9983. The new device uses premium materials—sapphire glass for the camera lens and forged stainless steel—and features a 3.1-inch 720×720 touchscreen, a 1.5 GHz dual‑core processor, 2 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage expandable via microSD.
“The Porsche Design P’9983 smartphone from BlackBerry makes a statement about its owner’s impeccable taste and drive for achievement and success, as well as discernment in making the right choices with products that help them stay on top,” says Juergen Gessler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group. “Yet again, the collaboration with BlackBerry has led to a product that blends style and functionality to provide a true luxury experience.”
The Porsche Design P’9983 smartphone will be available at the beginning of October 2014 in Porsche Design stores, select carriers and retailers around the world. No word on price yet, but don’t expect this handset to be cheap. Watch the official presentation and unboxing after the break.
