Italian Medieval Castle Turned Into Authentic Hotel

S. Stefano di SessanioS. Stefano di Sessanio is a fortified medieval village located at only two-hour ride away from Rome in the mountains of Abruzzo, at 1250 meters above sea level. Working alongside local organizations, creative team at Oriano Associati Architetti decided to conserve and revive Santo Stefano as an “albergo diffuso” (village hotel) while maintaining its architectural integrity. Sextantio Albergo Diffuso offers unique accommodation, while the restaurant serves a great range of local recipes, all made using fresh food grown in the neighbouring fields. Check out the gallery below and let the photos do a better job of telling the story.
