Bling bling! Audi took home the Golden Steering Wheel award from German magazine Auto Bild earlier this month and the brand decided to celebrate in style. The result is an Audi R8 V10 Plus wrapped entirely in gold chrome and it is impossible to miss. This isn’t the first time the R8 has received a bold makeover, as tuners like MTM have previously given the R8 a performance-focused transformation.
The eye-catching supercar is currently sitting pretty at the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm, Germany where fans can see it in person. Love it or hate it, you have to admit Audi knows how to make an entrance with an award win.
Gold wraps on supercars usually split opinion right down the middle. A gold Lamborghini Gallardo spotted in Beijing back in 2012 had already followed the trend. Some people think chrome finishes belong on trophies. I say if you just won a golden steering wheel then a golden car feels like the right way to mark the occasion.
