Bugatti took the wraps off and introduced the most expensive new car of all time: La Voiture Noire; a one-off modern interpretation of Jean Bugatti’s personal Type 57 SC Atlantic that got lost during World War II.
At the exterior the La Voiture Noire features a handcrafted carbon fiber body with a glossy black carbon fiber finish, while under the hood is the familiar quad-turbo W16 8.0-liter engine with 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque as the Chiron, Chiron Sport, and Divo.“With La Voiture Noire, we are paying homage to our heritage and bringing speed, technology, luxury and aesthetics forward to a new era,” said Stephan Winkelmann, president of Bugatti. “With our automotive haute couture, we have shown what Bugatti is capable of.”
Bugatti says it’s the most expensive new car of all time, costing its owner $18.9 million including taxes, or $12.5 million before them – The car is already sold. Surprised?
