One of the most beautiful contemporary tributes to a classic model, a re-imagined Stratos by Chris Hrabalek could fetch around $1 million at auction. Introduced back in 1973, the Lancia Stratos was one of the most successful World Rally Championship cars of all time.
Featuring a white exterior with removable Alitalia livery, the MAT Stratos Coupe has a carbon fibre body while the interior is uncompromisingly Spartan.
Based on the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, the new Stratos is built by Manufattura Automobili Torino (MAT), and boast a 4.3-liter V8 that makes 540 horsepower, revised exhaust system and changes to the engine-management electronics.
This example bearing chassis no. ZFFKZ64B000166472 is the first of twenty-five models, the first to be available for auction.
The renowned auction house Bonham’s estimates that the new MAT Stratos Coupe will fetch € 700,000 – 900,000. The listing can be found here.
Any takers?
