Say hello to the “Spirit of Passion,” the latest take on BMW R 18 made in collaborative partnership with Kingston Custom. Inspired by Art Deco, the eye-catching sculptural two-wheeler was has fitted it with a gorgeous BMW kidney grille, LED front headlight, a new set of handlebars, modified roadster-style exhaust, and a saddle that references the original from the R18.
“I put a lot of thought into it beforehand. My motorbikes always convey soul, charm and character,” explained in a statement Kingston Custom founder Dirk Oehlerking. “I have a constant stream of images running past my mind’s eye when it comes to deciding what style I want to focus on. Once I’ve made that choice, I start with a sketch in pencil and Tipp-Ex. Then I keep going until I know in my heart of hearts: that’s precisely it!”
Finished with classic BMW black paint and subtle white pinstriping, the eye-catching custom masterpiece is powered by the highest displacement boxer that BMW has ever built, 1,802 cc two-cylinder engine producing 91 hp at 4,750 rpm and 152 Nm peak torque at 3,000 rpm.
No word on price of the build, but the standard R 18 starts at $17,495.
