American pop star Rihanna is officially a billionaire and world’s richest female musician, according to Forbes. The Barbados-born singer, whose real name is Robyn Fenty is the world’s second wealthiest female entertainer after Oprah Winfrey. According to Forbes magazine, a whopping $1.4 billion of her earnings come from the beauty brand (RiRi owns 50 percent of the beauty company, with the other half being owned by luxury goods conglomerate LVMH), followed by her lingerie company, Savage x Fenty, which is worth a reported $270 million, and the rest of net worth comes from her acting and music career.
“A lot of women felt there were no lines out there that catered to their skin tone. It was light, medium, medium dark, dark,” says Shannon Coyne, cofounder of consumer products consultancy Bluestock Advisors. “We all know that’s not reality. She was one of the first brands that came out and said, ‘I want to speak to all of those different people.’”
Meanwhile, there’s still no word on when Rihanna will be releasing new music, as her last album, Anti, came out in 2016.
