The highly anticipated Nike x Louis Vuitton “Air Force 1” shoes created by the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh will go under the hammer at auction at sothebys.com. Designed in 1982, this exclusive colorway Nike Air Force 1 sneakers are entirely made in calf leather, featuring Vuitton’s signature Monogram and Damier patterns, with natural cowhide piping and styled with Abloh’s signature quotation marks.
Ranging in sizes from 5 to 18, the renowned auction house confirmed that only 200 “collectible” pairs will be available through its auction. Each pair will come packaged in a Louis Vuitton pilot case in monogram-embossed orange leather.
The auction will run from Wednesday, Jan. 26, to Tuesday, Feb. 8. Starting bids are placed at $2,000 with the proceeds from the auction going to benefit Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund in support of Black fashion students.
