Swiss watchmaker Urwerk introduced another spaceship for your wrist, the UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey. Described by the brand as a “wrist spacecraft,” the UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey comes housed in 42mm width x 51mm length x 16mm case crafted in steel and titanium – dimensions are identical to the earlier edition.
The central body of the case contains the Calibre UR-13.01, an automatic movement with a Swiss lever-type escapement, beating at 4Hz/28,800vph and a 48h power reserve.
Pressing the two pushers on the sides of the watch opens the cover to reveal the power-reserve indicator and the spectacular small seconds.
The UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey displays jumping hours and trailing minutes on prisms. Shifted to the front of the watch, they are visible in their large sapphire crystal housings.
Priced at CHF 250,000 (approx. $271,507) the latest evolution of the UR-112 will be very limited in number and “there may be just five of them”. Urwerk has not disclosed how many of these watches will be made.
“Once again we have let our guts speak for us in making a spaceship, a UFO that is a technical challenge. This UR-112 is pure madness in terms of the mechanics and the finishes. We will only be able to make a very limited number and there may be just five of them, but this is sheer unadulterated watchmaking pleasure!” said Felix Baumgartner, co-founder of URWERK.
