Bulgari just broke another record, introducing the thinnest mechanical watch in the world, the newest Octo Finissimo Ultra watch. From a design perspective, the Octo Finissimo Ultra retains its signature matt monochromatic grey look; it comes housed in a 40mm × 1.80mm sandblasted titanium case with a ultra-thin titanium bracelet with integrated folding clasp matching the thinness of the case. At a spectacular 1.80mm, the Octo Finissimo Ultra dethrones the previous record holder, the 2mm Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept.
Inside is the BVL Calibre 180 (1.50 mm thick) mechanical ultra-thin Manufacture manual-winding movement beating at 28,800 VPH (4 Hz) frequency with 50-hour power reserve.
“The challenge of this eighth record was the most difficult to overcome since we had to break the rules not only in terms of movement design but also of the case, the caseback, the bracelet and the folding clasp. To achieve this degree of thinness, you not only have to review your way of thinking, but you must also draw upon a wide range of skills, play with multiple materials and adapt to a multitude of new constraints. In this sense, the Octo Finissimo Ultra is unquestionably the ultimate complication in this vast field of possibilities represented by ultra-miniaturisation.” stated Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Bulgari’s Product Creation Executive Director.
Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra boasts a QR code engraved on the barrel’s ratchet wheel, that will lead you to an exclusive NFT artwork and unlock an entire digital universe for you as the owner of this watch.
The timepiece also contains eight pieces of patented technology, relating to the watch glass assembly, barrel structure, oscillator module, differential display, modular structure, bracelet, bimetal case middle-mainplate/caseback, as well as the Bvlgari Singvlarity technology.
Priced at EUR 400,000 Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra (reference 103611) is limited to just 10 pieces as a nod to the 10th-anniversary of Octo. For more information, please visit Bulgari’s website.
