Rimowa Chess Attaché Set for Travelers Who Play

Rimowa Chess Attache Set

Rimowa has made luggage for over a century and now the brand is applying the same aluminum shell to something smaller. The Chess Attaché is a full chess set packed inside a silver anodized aluminum case made in Cologne, Germany. It has the same minimalist look and gently curved edges as Rimowa’s suitcases.

Open the case and you find a black leather interior with the Rimowa monogram stamped across it. The board and compartments are lined with a suede-like microfiber and foam to hold each piece in place. The chessmen themselves come in silver and black anodized aluminum and each one carries a small laser-etched Rimowa monogram.

A leather overlay sits above the pieces to keep everything secure when the case is closed. If you travel often and hate playing chess on apps, this one is hard to ignore.

The set comprises:
– 32 Chess pieces crafted from Silver and Black Aluminum, each bearing RIMOWA’s monogram: 2 Kings, 2 Queens, 4 Bishops, 4 Knights, 4 Rooks, and 16 Pawns.
– A safeguarding leather patch designed to be positioned between the chess pieces and the board.
– A magnetic board constructed from wood and encased in leather, featuring an aluminum frame, and adorned with RIMOWA’s logo.

The chess set, ideal for on-the-go play, comes with a price tag of $5,750.00. Up for a game of intellectual warfare on the checkered battlefield?
