Inspired by the original, Porsche Design and Hodinkee, the world’s leading watch platform, are reviving a legend by reinterpreting the Chronograph 1 as part of an impressive trilogy. Built upon F.A. Porsche’s original design, the 2024 Hodinkee Edition, crafted in the Porsche watch factory in Solothurn, Switzerland, stays true to its iconic form while subtly incorporating modern touches. The 2024 Hodinkee Edition of the Chronograph 1 pays homage to the Porsche and Hodinkee fan community in Japan, where Hodinkee founded its first sister publication.
The dial features the vintage Porsche Design logo and font, alongside the legacy-spec “1 Mile” graphic rehaut, a nod to Hodinkee’s U.S. roots. The sole Hodinkee touch on the dial is the “H” at 6 o’clock, rendered in Porsche Design Red from 1972. This hue is inspired by the colors used for the military-issued “3H” models. 
This edition stays true to the original Chronograph 1 design with a 40.8mm wide and 14.15mm thick case. The case and matching bracelet are crafted from ultra-light, super-durable titanium with a matte-black titanium carbide coating for a stealthy look. The caseback proudly showcases the iconic Porsche Design emblem with lettering and the unique limited-edition number (XXX/350). Joining them are the Hodinkee logo (H), the year 2024, and the inscription “TRILOGY – CHAPTER 1.”
The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 Limited Edition for Hodinkee will be limited to 350 pieces worldwide. The first 100 pieces are available at the Hodinkee Shop for $9,650 USD each, while the remaining watches will be available through Porsche Design.
