M.A.D.2 by MB&F: A Spinning Tribute to Vinyl Culture

Press play. Feel the beat. After the buzz surrounding the M.A.D.1, M.A.D.Editions returns with a new timepiece designed by Eric Giroud, revealing a design less reliant on MB&F’s signature style. Max Büsser’s continued collaboration with Giroud, a renowned Swiss watch designer and longtime partner known for pushing the boundaries of traditional aesthetics, highlights this departure.

M.A.D.2

Inspired by Lausanne’s legendary clubs and Eric Giroud’s vision of the electric ’90s, the design’s most striking feature is its dial, etched with vinyl record-like grooves. An external track reveals the movement’s rotor, envisioned as a turntable platter, complete with a stroboscopic band reminiscent of the Technics SL-1200 and Super-LumiNova stop pins, evoking a true disco vibe both day and night.

The dials come in green, which will be raffled off at the end of the month, and orange, reserved exclusively for members of the MB&F “Tribe,” encompassing family and close friends of the brand.

Housed in a sleek and compact 42mm × 12.3mm stainless steel case, the M.A.D.2 features a smooth, pebble-like design with domed crystals on both sides. At its heart lies a La Joux-Perret caliber G101 automatic movement, augmented by an MB&F-designed bi-directional jumping hour and trailing minutes module.

Priced at CHF 2,900 (approx. $3,025), the watch comes on a grained leather strap with a washed green effect, secured by a folding clasp adorned with an almond-shaped alien motif.

Watch Max Büsser in conversation with legendary designer Eric Giroud as they unveil his latest creation for M.A.D.Editions, the M.A.D.2. Like previous M.A.D.Editions watches, Eric Giroud’s M.A.D.2 will be available via a raffle starting April 1st at 2:00 PM (Swiss time) for one week on this page.
