Inspired by the artist’s 1986 “Collage” self-portrait and reminiscent of the watch once owned by Warhol, this edition features a black onyx dial adorned with artfully interlaid yellow serpentine, pink opal, and green chrysoprase, creating a handcrafted masterpiece that resembles a precious stone puzzle.
A Legacy of Style: Warhol and the Black Tie
During his lifetime, the legendary artist and cultural icon Andy Warhol (1928–1987) was the owner of at least seven Piaget watches. In 2014, Piaget commemorated its 140th anniversary by reissuing the Black Tie design. A decade later, in 2024, the timepiece was renamed the “Andy Warhol” through a collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation, establishing a distinctive and enduring identity.
Inspired by Warhol’s own watch, the design features a 45mm stepped case crafted in yellow gold. The solid caseback is fixed with eight screws and displays a vertical satin finish, engraved with a rendition of the Andy Warhol self-portrait, the Piaget logo, and Warhol’s signature.
