Louis Vuitton’s ateliers have always crafted these amazing custom trunks for stuff like libraries, wardrobes, even picnic setups—and this one’s a fresh take on that classic tradition. Back in 2002–2003, LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault commissioned Louis Vuitton to create this bespoke Breakfast Cabine just for Karl Lagerfeld—Chanel and Fendi’s late creative genius. It matched his strict early-2000s eating habits perfectly, packing a full breakfast setup for travel without skipping a beat.

Inside Karl’s Exclusive Breakfast Cabine
Inside, everything’s been carefully arranged: a tablecloth and two napkins, a built-in toaster, a full place setting with teaspoon, knife, fork and spoon, a special slot for a crystal bottle, and four small cabinets. Every detail was custom-made—essentially a portable breakfast room crafted to Lagerfeld’s exact wishes.

Resurfacing at the Joopiter Auction
The piece has resurfaced on Pharrell Williams’s auction platform, joined by items Karl Lagerfeld gifted over nearly two decades to his closest confidant. Sébastien Jondeau, Lagerfeld’s longtime personal assistant and bodyguard, is quietly letting go of select artworks, clothing, accessories, and keepsakes through Pharrell’s Joopiter. Under the banner “The Collection of Sébastien Jondeau: My Life With Karl Lagerfeld,” the sale begins accepting bids from around the world Wednesday and ends on March 3.

Karl Lagerfeld’s Unique Breakfast Rituals
According to Jondeau via WWD, Lagerfeld always packed Harrys loaves on trips, the French version of squishy American sandwich bread that he’d toast and top with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter when in the U.S., courtesy of the Mercer Hotel fridge.
