Trussardi turned 100, and BMW Italia showed up to the party with a car. The two teamed up on a limited edition of the 5 Series Gran Turismo, and the result leans hard into the fashion house’s leather-making roots. The paint is the headline. An exclusive warm metallic brown called Heraldic Brown, laid down in three layers so the body shifts tone as the light moves across it. The grille, rear strip and shadow-line trim all wear the same color, while the front air intake strip goes dark grey matte. Even the 20 inch double-spoke wheels, style number 316, get a burnished finish to blend in.
Inside is where Trussardi really shows up. The seats wear a beige leather called Leather Glove Beige, stitched in a caned pattern lifted straight from a glove in the company archives. The greyhound emblem is pressed into the headrests and turns up again on the center console.
Trussardi describes the car as “elegant, understated, and at the same time sensual and attractive.” One hundred years of glove making, capped with a BMW. There are worse ways to throw a birthday party.
