Karl Lagerfeld has done what he does best. The Chanel creative director has designed a striking collar for Net-a-Porter featuring black diamonds and a rare emerald, and it comes with a price tag of $37,500.
“I’m renowned for my love of a high collar and I wanted to create a true collector’s item with this one-off piece,” Lagerfeld explained the inspiration behind the piece in an interview with Vogue UK.
The neckpiece is handcrafted from metallic-black suede, edged with pavé black diamonds and embellished with a dazzling hydrothermal emerald. The piece will be on display from June 28th – July 4th at the the Brilliant exhibition of diamonds at Masterpiece London, accompanied by a hand-signed sketch from the icon himself. A percentage of profits from the sale will be donated to children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
