Casino Royale by Ian Fleming, the First Edition is truly a collector’s item. This first printing copy, one of only 4,728 copies, published by Jonathan Cape on April 1953 in the UK, is now on sale for £50,000 ($78,000).
“This is a very good/near fine condition book with only some foxing to the page edge and end-papers. There are no inscriptions inside and the wrapper is unrestored. The wrapper is not price clipped, has no chips and no sunning to the spine. There is some general foxing to the rear panel and a little wear to the top of the spine, but for a first edition like this from almost 60 years ago, the condition is excellent. It’s very rare to find this iconic book in such lovely condition and without restoration.”
This rare stunning book which was the source of the inspiration of the 007 films, features a playing-card inspired cover, and comes complete with a custom-made clamshell box.
