Celebrating a Legacy: Bugatti Unveils the Veyron Vitesse Jean Bugatti

Just a few weeks after the Bugatti Legends series took Pebble Beach by storm, Bugatti is back with more. We’re seeing the world premiere of the second vehicle in this elite edition today at the 65th International Motor Show in Frankfurt. This model pays tribute to Jean Bugatti, the gifted designer and eldest son of the company’s founder, Ettore Bugatti.

Keeping with the exclusivity of the Legend series, the “Jean Bugatti” is limited to just three vehicles, with a price tag of 2.28 million euros, plus taxes and fees.

“Jean Bugatti is a Bugatti legend,” says Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. “Along with his father Ettore, Jean played a critical role in shaping our brand. Jean managed to combine the artistic roots of Bugatti with his father’s innovative automotive technology, and from that developed a design which is still reflected in the brand today, finding expression in our brand values of ‘Art, Forme, Technique’.

Breaking new ground, Bugatti’s signature horseshoe now sparkles in precious platinum. The Jean Bugatti Legend Edition is a masterclass in heritage, designed to echo the legendary Type 57SC Atlantic La Voiture Noire. Draped in jet-black, clear-coated carbon fiber, the body of the Jean Bugatti Vitesse Legend Edition represents the perfect intersection of aesthetic elegance and technical mastery.

In a subtle nod to Jean Bugatti, his signature has been laser-engraved onto the petrol and oil caps and painted in a sleek Arctic Grey.

To maintain this heritage, the cabin is fully appointed in leather, utilizing the same beige and brown palette found in the Type 57SC Atlantic. A deep chocolate brown defines the space, enveloping the seats, steering wheel, dashboard, and center console, as well as the door panels and windscreen crossmember.

If you’re curious about the rest of the lineup, take a look back at the other Legends of Bugatti Veyron editions that came before it: the Jean-Pierre Wimille, the Meo Costantini, the Rembrandt Bugatti, the Black Bess , and the Ettore Bugatti edition.
