Meet the street-legal, motorsport monster 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R. Under the hood is the familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 577 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph. At the interior is the standard “Interior Night” package with adjustable AMG sports bucket seats upholstered in nappa leather and DINAMICA microfibre come as standard.
And that eye-catching shade of green? Mercedes calls it “AMG green hell magno,” in reference to Germany’s Green Hell, the nickname for the Nürburgring Nordschleife course.
The GT R is set to hit Mercedes’ US showrooms in mid 2017.
