Meet the street-legal, motorsport monster: the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R. Beneath the hood sits a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 577 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the GT R accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 198 mph.
Inside, the standard “Interior Night” package features adjustable AMG sports bucket seats upholstered in premium nappa leather and DINAMICA microfiber. Every detail has been engineered for performance and luxury.
And that eye-catching shade of green? Mercedes calls it “AMG green hell magno,” in reference to Germany’s Green Hell, the nickname for the Nürburgring Nordschleife course.
The GT R is set to hit Mercedes’ US showrooms in mid 2017.
